The Internet provides convenience and allows you to access your information from any computer that is connected to the Internet. If you had stored the information on your computer at home and a disaster happens you wouldn't be able to get to your valuable information. The address of your inventory locations is not maintained, providing anonymity about the actual location of your inventory items. When you put in your credit card billing information, it is stored and encrypted in a separate system so there is no way anyone could find out your address.

How is this different than a software package that I install on my computer?
When you purchase a software package and install it on your computer you have several risks. If your hard drive dies or you get a virus on your computer, all of your information will be lost. Technology changes very rapidly, programs that you had on your computer three years ago won't necessarily run on your computer today. So even though you had taken the time to enter your inventory information, you wouldn't be able to get to this information. Computer software programs do become obsolete.  Additionally you can only access your information from your computer so if you are in another location, you can't access this valuable information.

Can I upload receipts and pictures?
My Belongings provides you the ability to upload and store images of your receipts and or pictures. You can capture an image by using a scanner or a digital camera.

Should I upload a copy of my Will, Life, Home or Auto Insurance Policies?
Any valuable documents should be uploaded so that you can easily find them. You can always access this information and print them on your local printer. If these documents are destroyed in a fire or disaster it might be difficult to remember or replace them.

How do I keep a local copy of my inventory?
My Belongings provides the ability for you to download all of your inventory information onto your local hard disk and create a CD.

Why should I let my insurance agent view my inventory?
Your insurance agent should review what you have to make sure you have enough insurance coverage. Once a disaster happens, it would be too late to find out that you didn't have enough insurance or that something wasn't covered.

How do I let my insurance agent view my inventory?

Use the Guest login. This login provides read-only access to your inventory information. This login is also restricted from viewing your account information screens. This Guest account is disabled by default and must be enabled and a password assigned. To login, the guest user would use your same account name and the guest password.
